Music is Life. Writing is a journey. Together it creates Stories.

"Shelter"

"Shelter"

Francis is sitting by her window, remembering a time when she was struggling and the choices she made surrounding that. The monologue is slow and there’s a lot of spacing between lines.

Francis: “I left you heartbroken.”

While I was away and doing everything to try to be better. I didn’t even realize that I was pushing you away.

Well I didn’t realize it. “Not until those very words were spoken.” Those words that changed everything we were and what was going to happen after that.

I hope you found happiness in life. I hope you found someone who didn’t put you second or even third. I feel bad. “Has anybody ever made such a fool out of you?” It was wrong. I shouldn’t have done that to you.

No one deserves something like that ever.

“It’s hard to believe.”

It’s been 20 years and I still think about it all like it was yesterday. “As my eyes do see… it” didn’t need to end the way it did.

Things probably never need to end the way they do. It was just too much to keep fighting constantly.

To keep fighting over and over and over again about the same things.

I mean, “the very things that make you live are” the same ones that end up “killing you.” Killing us all. It was never meant to work between us, I have some regrets, but I truly wish you happy.

“Listen, when all of this around us [falls] over” that’s it. It won’t matter what was said or not said. Who we were with or not with. These trivial things won’t matter at all. Be happy.
