"Traveling Man"

"Traveling Man"

Jax and Gina are sitting at dinner.

Gina: You never told me how your backpacking went.

Jax: “I’m a traveling man.”

Gina: Where did you go?

Jax: “Made a lot of stops.”

Gina: I remember you said something about Europe, but you never mentioned countries.

Jax: I traveled “all over the world.” Not just Europe.

Gina: You are being so weird. What did you do while you were over there. I’ve never been out of the country and can only imagine. Tell me more.

Jax: I just hung out “in every part” of Europe and Asia I could.

Gina: See any sites? It’s like pulling teeth with you.

Jax: “I own the heart of a least one lovely girl” in every country I visited.

Gina: What?

Jax: You keep asking so I’m telling you that “I [had] a pretty senorita” no matter where I went.

Gina: So you’re not “waiting for me?”

There’s a silence as they stare at one another from across the table.

Jax: I just wanted to visit you. “When I get back to LA” I’m pretty sure we’ll never talk again.

Gina: I….

Jax: I don’t know how you twisted my intentions. “All the girls that I ran through” on my trip knew that it was temporary.

Gina: Wow, man.

Jax: I mean “when I was in Cancun” there was this one lady that I would’ve stayed for, but she didn’t want to come to the U.S.

Gina: Do you even know who they are?

Jax: I kind of remember certain parts of them, but I “don’t know their names.”

Gina: I’m finishing my dinner, getting dessert, more wine, and you’re paying for this. Then I’ll peace.
