"Heartbeat"

Sal, a teacher at a high school, walks over to Student’s desk while they are taking a test.

Sal: “Turn your phone over.”

Student: I don’t have my phone.

Sal: It’s in your lap. Give me your phone.

Student: Sure, “when it’s all over” and I turn in my test.

Sal: “No.”

The class starts to rustle and there are hushed whispers.

Sal: You all better be “settling down” or everyone will fail.

The Student’s phone buzzes and falls to the floor. Sal picks it up quickly and looks at it.

Student: Hey give that back it’s “my [texts].” Don’t read them!

Sal: They shouldn’t “go to the screen. You know better than that.” Let’s see what we have here. Julia, I’m assuming from my 1st period is sending you the answers? Listen class, the answer to question five is Margaret Atwood. Well now I know who’s going to fail my test.

Student: You can’t do that. It’s an invasion of privacy.

Sal: Well you should have been better at hiding your cheating. “I come around when you least expect me.”

Student: My parents are going to sue.

Sal: Let’s call them and see.

Sal gets into the phone and calls one of Student’s parents.
