"40 Day Dream"
Tim is sleeping in his bed throughout these scenes.
Scene 1
Tim wakes up with a start.
Tim: How long have I been out?! (he turns around looking for his alarm clock) It’s only 4:30am? In my dream “I been sleepin’ for 40 days and” it was intense. I was in a dungeon and ticking off each day by digging my fingernail into the wall. I can still hear that sound. I gotta get back to sleep; big presentation in the morning.
Scene 2
Different day, Tim wakes up gradually, smiling.
Tim: I want to go back to sleep. Recapture what I was just thinking about. It was a good dream. Cozy. “I know I’m sleeping ‘cause [that] dream’s too amazin’.” She’s so beautiful. Probably should talk to her today at work. The weird thing in the dream is that “she [had] gold doorknobs where her eyes used to be.” That didn’t matter though, she was still so beautiful, it’s that feeling you have. All it took was “one turn and I learned what it really means to see.” This is the best kind of dream. “The magical mystery kind.”
Scene 3
Tim is cold sweating.
Tim: This “must be a lie.” Too many vivid dreams in a row. Where’s the peaceful non-REM sleep?
Scene 4
Tim is mumbling in his sleep.
Tim: Witch, why can’t I do anything? Unhand me! Let me go. No, “i’ve been sleepin’ for 60 days” because of you. Someone get help. I need to get back to my kingdom. Someone “better pinch me.” If I don’t go back to my own palace “I swear I’ll go crazy.” Ughhhhh!
Scene 5
Tim wakes up wide eyed and with horror on his face.
Tim: She… She… “she got jumper cable lips.” That wasn’t even the worse part. Everyone was slowly coming toward me. Creepy…like zombies…Then it changed. She came back with “sunset on her breath.” That’s when I knew I was safe. All the zombie people disappeared. “I inhaled just a little bit” of her and it saved me. Because of my dream “I got no fear of death…now.” All of this is a “magical mystery kind.” Does everyone have such vivid dreams like me?
